da bet sport： The Netherlands international has been linked with a move away from the club this summer as part of a revamp of the White Hart Lane outfit’s squad.
With Van der Vaart’s wife working in Germany, both Schalke and former club Hamburg are thought to be keen to bring the talented attacker back to the Bundesliga.
However, the Portuguese coach has stressed that Van der Vaart is still firmly in his thinking.
“With Van der Vaart, at the moment I am absolutely counting on him,” Sky Sports quote Villas Boas as saying.
“It is a totally different situation from Luka Modric, who has been chased by different clubs in the past two seasons and is continuing to drag interest.
“We have to make sure the club’s interests are met, and it is up to the chairman to decide that,” he confirmed.
