da bwin: Tottenham have been linked with a move for Nicolas Anelka, who is reportedly eager to move back to Europe after an ill-fated spell in China according to The Daily Mail.
The veteran French attacker left Chelsea in January to join Shanghai Shenhua in a bumper payday for the ageing attacker.
Anelka has even became coach of the Asian team but their are rumblings that the forward is not happy in the Far East, and would be keen to move back to Europe and especially the Premier League.
Tottenham are said to be considering making an approach for Anelka, with West Ham and QPR also keeping an eye on his situation.
Spurs are in the market for a new striker after releasing Louis Saha and hitting a stumbling block in their attempts to bring Emmanuel Adebayor to White Hart Lane permanently.
Although the likes of Leandro Damiao and Loic Remy are seemingly the north London club’s preferred targets, Anelka would pose a cheaper option as there would be little or no transfer fee.
