da realsbet: England manager Fabio Capello has revealed that he may have to alter his side’s tactics and personnel to prevent the threat of Wales winger Gareth Bale.
The Tottenham flyer had an outstanding season in 2010-11, with a hat-trick against Inter Milan at the San Siro in the memory, and the Italian coach is wary of the former Southampton man’s threat.
“Gareth Bale is a really important player for Wales. The problem is that it’s difficult to stop him. He receives the ball, attacks the space, is fast – he’s really fantastic. I need to decide but we probably will change the style. The position of some players on the pitch will be different,” Capello told reporters at a press conference.
The Three Lions boss has also admitted that he has been keeping tabs on the 2010-11 PFA Player of the Year, and was impressed with Bale’s last outing.
“I watched the game on Friday (when Wales beat Montenegro 2-1) and he played really well. I saw the game he played against Manchester City and he was so-so, not the top.
“But in the game he played with Wales he improved a lot. He ran a lot, was really fast. He makes a difference, always.
“We need to be careful at every moment when he receives the ball, find a system to stop him and to stop people passing the ball to him,” he concluded.
England host Wales at Wembley on Tuesday night, and know that three points will give their chances of making Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine a real boost.
