Fabio Capello will hold talks with the Football Association following speculation linking him with the Internazionale job.
Capello is currently in Austria with the England squad ahead of the World Cup finals.
The Italian is under contract with the FA until summer 2012 but is wanted by Inter to replace Jose Mourinho following his move to Real Madrid.
Inter president Massimo Moratti has confirmed that the former AC Milan, Juventus and Real Madrid coach is on his short-list of candidates.
Earlier in the month it was reported that Capello, at his own request, had asked for a post World Cup get-out clause in his contract to be removed.
However, that was before Lord Triesman stepped down as FA chairman following a media storm surrounding comments he made about the alleged bribing of referees.
Capello insists he wants to remain as England manager but is concerned by the changes at the top of the FA hierarchy.
"I would like to stay here. I have always said this. I like this job. I have to speak with the new chairman," he said in the Sunday Mirror.
"I signed one contract with the first chairman. We spoke with Lord Triesman and everything was okay.
"I signed (a contract) with one chairman, we changed it with another chairman but now I don't know what will happen.
"We need to speak."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
