da cassino online: It has been a rather eventful week at Oxford with injury problems, postponed matches, and even a post-deadline day signing from Swindon.
Since the transfer window slammed shut last week United’s injuries have been growing into a mini crisis. The main one is that Alfie Potter has been ruled out for the rest of the season after falling awkwardly in training and fracturing his ankle. This is a big blow to our promotion chances especially with Potter recently starting to rediscover his best form, including a wonder goal against Burton Albion a couple of weeks ago.
Another player in top form at the moment, Jon-Paul Pittman, is out for a month with a hamstring injury. Since Pittman returned from his loan spell earlier in the season he has been a revelation, scoring three goals and becoming an instant fan favourite.
With these two pacy players out it opens the door for Oli Johnson to show what he can do on the wing. Johnson has only had a couple of games so far and should now be looking to take this opportunity with both hands and make that wide role his own. Tom Craddock has also taken up a spot in the busy treatment room for the next couple of weeks.
Due to all the injury problems Chris Wilder has brought in an emergency loan signing, Mehdi Kerouche from Swindon Town. Striker Kerouche joins provisionally for a month using funds from the ’12 man’ group. He has had a decent season so far scoring eight times in 18 games for the Robins and its a surprise they have allowed him to join the U’s for a period that will see him stay until just after the derby game on Saturday 3rd March. However it is unclear at this time whether or not Kerouche will be available for this match.
At this rate though he won’t play in any matches as the weather still affects matches up and down the country. If it continues the second half of the season is going to start looking pretty stacked with rearranged fixtures to play.
For Oxford it’s the second game in a row the pitch has failed a pre-match inspection, this time at Accrington Stanley’s Crown Ground. The match has been re-arranged for Tuesday 27th March, and the Barnet game from last weekend is set to take place on Tuesday 21st February.
Hopefully the snow and frost has cleared so the Dagenham and Redbridge match in midweek still goes ahead so we get to see some football again soon.
