da 888casino: Paul McGrath, what an exceptional centre-back in his time.
The 83-time Republic of Ireland international started his professional career with St Patrick’s Athletic, before joining Manchester United in 1982.
McGrath spent seven years with United before joining Aston Villa, and made over 250 league appearances during his time at Villa Park.
The former defender moved to Derby County in 1996, before ending his career at Sheffield United in 1998.
McGrath won two League Cup trophies during his time at Villa, and it would be fair to say that he is fondly remembered by the club’s supporters.
Indeed, it was McGrath’s 59th birthday on Tuesday, and Villa’s official Twitter account was on hand to pay tribute to the former defender.
That led to a number of Villa fans airing their views on McGrath, and he would have enjoyed reading through the messages.
