da realsbet: Leeds United may be preparing for life after Charlie Taylor as Massimo Cellino could be be ready to cash in on another product of the Thorp Arch academy.
da stake casino: It has been widely documented that Cellino has been struggling to negotiate an extension to the contract of one of the team’s brightest talents for the last year.
With Taylor fast approaching the end of his current deal at the end of the 2016/17 season, it may be time to accept bids from interested parties, believed to be in the region of £5m, with Middlesbrough and Burnley seeming the most likely destinations.
An uncertain situation is made more difficult as Taylor shares the same agent (Colin Pomford) who represented Sam Byram during his time at Leeds United.
Byram, another product of the club’s academy, experienced ongoing frustrations when trying to negotiate the terms of a new deal with Cellino. Those frustrations eventually led to Byram being sold to West Ham for a fee believed to be in the region of £4m.
It appears Cellino has found dealing with the agent equally as difficult this time around, with both Taylor and Pomford allegedly refusing to discuss the possibility of a new deal at the club.
That refusal led to an angry response from Cellino who earlier this week told Mirror Sport: “I’m very disappointed with the way he has acted.
“We are not going to let him go. Trust Me! I Promise, even if we lose him at the end of the season for free, I’m not selling him.”
Despite those initial claims by Cellino, it now seems likely a deal for Taylor will be accepted, rather than allow him to move on at the end of his contract – a move that would see Leeds receive a compensation figure after developing the player.
That figure would be substantially lower than the reported £5m bids currently being mentioned and Cellino appears to be ready to maximise the money from the sale now.
Leeds fans would undoubtedly be frustrated to see anther young prospect heading for the Elland Road exit, only days after Lewis Cook left for Bournemouth.
The sale of Taylor is more likely to be seen as a shrewd piece of business and his replacement could come in the shape of Walsall youngster Rico Henry who it is believed is being lined up to replace Taylor.
A figure reported to be in the region of £1m for the young left back would see Leeds continuing to move through pre season surrounded with a new found optimism for the new season.
