Erik ten Hag's team were well beaten 3-0 at Old Trafford by Arne Slot's Liverpool last weekend, with many lambasting the team's performance as a whole. Now, ex-Reds defender Carragher has laid into goalkeeper Andre Onana, despite admitting the former Inter Milan stopper is good with his feet.

He said on the Stick to Football podcast: "My point is, if you just go with the actual building from the back, all top teams try and build up from the back. You can talk about it being right or wrong but that’s what the top teams do. I think in the goalkeeper [Onana], with the ball at his feet I think he’s quite good. I don’t think he’s a good goalie, he’s a really poor goalkeeper but in terms of with his feet, he’s okay.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Carragher has been critical of United boss Ten Hag for not stamping his authority on his team after more than two years in the job. He has also lampooned the club's owners for sticking with the ex-Ajax boss, who has overseen one win and two defeats this season. The Dutchman is under increasing pressure to keep his job and that scrutiny will intensify unless they pick up results soon.
