da betsson: Chelsea are reportedly tabling a number of player options for the Irons to choose from in exchange for Declan Rice.
da dobrowin: The Blues, who have already spent a combined £80million on Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, are still hot on the trail of the West Ham ace.
According to Football Insider, Chelsea are offering up a choice of Michy Batshuayi, Kurt Zouma and Fikayo Tomori as they attempt to strike a swap deal. The report claims the Blues are flexible on any of the players listed and are willing to use ‘one or more’ of them to secure the signing of Rice.
Tomori will reportedly only be available on loan, but Zouma and Batshuayi are available to sign permanently.
The Blues have been monitoring Rice with both Frank Lampard and assistant Jody Morris ‘big admirers’ of the young England international. His versatility will be a strong addition to this Chelsea side as they move forwards and look to challenge for silverware next season.
The 21-year-old has a Transfermarkt value of £44.5million, but that could be lowered or even waived if West Ham opt to take a player swap or cash-plus-player deal.
It’s unlikely the Hammers will let Rice go whilst taking a Chelsea player on loan, so that could rule Tomori out of the equation. However, Batshuayi and Zouma could be attractive names as David Moyes’ side looks more and more likely to sink into the drop zone.
Defence has been West Ham’s particular weak area this season, conceding the fourth highest amount of goals with 59. A centre-back like Zouma who has been trusted to start in a strong Chelsea side could be what the Irons need moving forward. If they are to face relegation, they will also benefit from any cash thrown their way in the Rice transfer.
Undoubtedly, the 21-year-old is one of Moyes’ most valued players, but if the right offer comes along, his arm might be twisted into selling as he looks at the bigger picture with the club.
